The ever-popular radio talk show Car Talk with Tom and Ray Magliozzi has been a phenomenon on National Public Radio (NPR) for decades, developing a cult following among many NPR listeners. So I'm glad to tell you that you can now see Click and Clack in their very own animated PBS sitcom, Click & Clack's as the Wrench Turns, airing this month on KCET!
In this small-screen version, each episode begins with the radio show as a jumping off point. Click and Clack immerse themselves in many motley misadventures, such as a competition with a nearby garage staffed by sexy hunks, a run-in with the feds and a robot mechanic that causes a power-grid meltdown all across Boston. Continuing their pursuit of idleness, they tempt disaster in each episode by constantly looking for the easy way out to make more money and work less while ignoring the unintended consequences and finding themselves right back where they started-square one. In conjunction with the series, I'm privileged to have been involved with an innovative partnership with the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators, which will help facilitate the communication of safety messages, such as teen driving-with Click and Clack on the driver's seat, of course!
So please tune in to KCET this month and watch these animated garage gurus come to life in the small screen. It's a truly unique viewer experience that's both cheeky and fun!
Sincerely,
Howard Grossman
