Battle for the Tiara Back

Battle for the Tiara

An unaccountable wellspring of humanity, Battle for the Tiara, a perennial AIDS benefit (and sellout) brings together the talents and goodwill of a bevy of LA's leading drag queens, from "Mandonna" to "Kim Chi," creating outlandish costumes, personas and mini-dramas that confront the looming presence of AIDS with defiant laughter and love. Brimming with spangles and glitter, the pageant and its behind-the-scenes preparations reveal a community in motion and united against a common foe.
