In this issue of webstories, we will explore the rise of backyard parties as we take a look at the evolution of DJ culture from the 1970’s to the present. In each decade we will explore one famous party, tracing the evolution and development of fashion, music and culture in L.A.

Great oral histories!! I agree with the D-jays' "escapism" analysis with the whole party scene. I remember growing up in the early 90's that alot of my friends and family got into the party crew scene to avoid being forced in to gang culture. Continue the study...

Wow!!!! Great stuff Mr. Gerald Meraz. Way to bring our 80's underground world to the surface for all of us still around to remember the great times and history of this unique culture we once had. PS.
